Product Reviews

Name: Review:
I was thoroughly disappointed with my experience as a 51 year old gamer dad, mainly because I felt that people were faulting the Switch system due to external factors rather than its inherent merits.

It seems like all the retail giants have fallen short in addressing this issue - namely, allowing resellers and bots to flood the market with stock, leading to inflated prices. The Pre-Order system is just one symptom of a bigger problem, and it's clear that these retailers are either clueless or unwilling to take action.

While I understand where the frustration comes from, I believe it's essential to direct our anger towards those who are profiting off of this situation rather than the product itself. By limiting sales to a single household or IP address, some companies seem content to continue allowing this practice, and it's simply not acceptable.

That being said, there is one area where retailers have taken steps in the right direction - namely, implementing measures to prevent scalpers from buying up large quantities of stock and reselling at inflated prices. This includes limiting sales to a single device per household address or IP address.

I was able to snag a system for myself and my son through some hard work and strategic planning - one game at a time. While I didn't want this review to focus solely on the purchase itself, it's clear that many others are feeling similarly frustrated by these practices.

The Switch OLED is undoubtedly an incredible upgrade, boasting a premium feel and superior performance compared to its predecessor. The addition of dual memory space and a stunning glass OLED screen makes for a truly immersive experience. Luigi's Mansion and Metroid Dread showcase the console's capabilities in a way that will leave you breathless - literally. The build quality has also been significantly improved, with metal components and a sturdy kick stand.

In terms of sheer value, I'd say the Switch OLED is worth more than $350 - but Nintendo has apparently decided to keep it at this price point due to other cost-cutting measures. I would advise anyone considering purchasing one to do so, as the quality and performance justify the investment.

When you're lucky enough to find a good deal or an unsold system through your own efforts, don't be afraid to take advantage of those retailers' mistakes - they're likely profiting off their failures rather than addressing them. I've seen it happen with other products too, including the PS5 and Xbox series X/S, where companies have taken steps to address similar issues before this one. Tar-jaé?...

I was a bit hesitant when I saw that my package had no stock in Portugal, but thankfully it turned out to be correct because the quality of the order was impeccable, and I could see that all the items arrived without any problem.

I do have some bad news for others who are still considering purchasing a Nintendo Switch - if you're planning to buy one of these models, don't bother with the OLED version unless you've already invested in it. The extra £50 is just for the screen, and trust me, it's not worth it unless you really need the latest design.

On the other hand, I have been thoroughly impressed with this Switch. The OLED screen is truly stunning, and it shows how well Nintendo has optimized it for gaming. For now, I'll give it 4 stars out of 5 - but don't expect me to give it a full 5-star review just yet because I'm still in the honeymoon period.

One thing that's been driving me crazy is trying to figure out why my console won't charge properly. It looks like the battery life could be improved, and if you're planning on playing games for hours on end, this may not be the best option for you. In terms of games, I've only had a chance to play Assassin's Creed III Remastered, which was a solid experience despite some bugs.

I have mixed feelings about the Switch itself - it's definitely a beautiful console with great design, and I appreciate how Nintendo has optimized it for porting games. Pokémon Legends Arceus is one of the few games that really lives up to expectations, and if you're looking for a new RPG to play on your Switch, this might be worth checking out.

But ultimately, my experience with the Console has been marred by its limitations - lack of battery life, no built-in speaker, and some other quirks. If I had to give it a rating now, I'd probably say 3 stars out of 5, but keep in mind that this is still an early adopter's console, and things may improve with time.

So far, I'm not convinced that the Switch is worth buying unless you're already familiar with Nintendo consoles or have a very specific use case - there are just too many other great options available on the market right now. But if you do decide to buy one, make sure to take care of it properly and invest in some good accessories to get the most out of your experience.

The Nintendo Switch OLED Model is an absolute game-changer! As someone who’s enjoyed the original, I was eager to see how the improved features would enhance my gaming experience—and it does not disappoint. The first thing that struck me was the incredible display – a major upgrade over the original model.

What I love most about this new screen is its vibrant colors and deep blacks. Every time I play in handheld mode, everything just looks more crisp and immersive, whether on the go or at my desk. One of the things that really sets it apart is the enhanced audio quality when playing in tabletop mode. The sound is clearer and more robust, making for a better overall gaming experience.

I was also impressed by the new wide kickstand – I had no idea it would be such a game-changer. It feels much more stable than the original model, allowing me to adjust it to different angles with ease. This makes tabletop gaming far more comfortable.

The performance of the hardware and features remains the same as the original Switch, so you get all the fantastic games and features you know and love – but now with improved visuals and comfort. With 64GB of internal storage, I have more space to download my favorite games without needing an SD card right away.

A small note to consider is that if you already own the original Switch and are mostly using it in docked mode, you may not feel the OLED screen upgrade as much. However, for handheld and tabletop gamers, this new feature is absolutely worth it! The Nintendo Switch OLED Model takes an amazing gaming system and elevates it to new heights.

If you’re looking to enhance your gaming experience with a premium console, I highly recommend giving the Nintendo Switch OLED Model a try.
