A new PC build was underway, with a focus on delivering reasonable gaming performance at an affordable price. The MAG B850 chipset seemed like a wise choice for this project, offering two PCI5 NVMe slots that had proven elusive in other manufacturers' designs. Installation into the case proved straightforward and trouble-free, with no issues encountered during setup or compatibility checks.

A nice touch was the positioning of key connectors - power, fan headers, and USB ports were all neatly arranged to accommodate components comfortably. The space around the CPU also allowed for a comfortable installation of liquid cooling solutions, as well as a 360mm radiator. Everything fit together seamlessly, with no major compromises made during assembly.

The system went up and running without any hiccups or instability issues, thanks in part to an easy-to-navigate BIOS that was accessible via various configuration options. MSI software also allowed for seamless control of lighting and fan settings from Windows, as well as automatic driver updates.

A minor complaint with the package arrived on arrival - sharp contacts on the base had punctured a protective anti-static bag. Fortunately, no damage to either the contact or outer packaging was evident, which made for a relatively stress-free unboxing experience.

Overall performance without any tweaks outperformed comparable builds by a hair, and it's worth noting that this build has been running smoothly since its launch, with some minor tweaking still possible if needed.

It was a pleasure building my third PC, and I have to say, this motherboard has exceeded my expectations. The features on board are truly impressive, including PCI-E 5.0, WIFI 7, and M.2 slots that make installing cards a breeze. One of the standout features is the screwless heatsink for the GPU installation process, which requires only a single button to open instead of fiddling with it. The fact that the GPU slot is on the bottom means I can fit full-size cards in cases like the Jonsbo Z20 without worrying about clearance issues.

I was also impressed with how easy it was to set up my AMD EXPO settings through MSI's excellent BIOS GUI, which took just one click. This motherboard has made building PCs a painless experience for me, and I feel confident that it will provide years of trouble-free service.
