I bought this 7800X3D system with a 4060 8gb GPU plus 32gb DDR5 ram and was super excited when it arrived. Looking at it now, I think the company did an amazing job of customizing it for me. The CPU alone is an absolute monster, I'm blown away by its performance.
As soon as I set up Windows after unpacking the PC and giving it a good visual inspection, I started noticing some issues. Blue screens of death were popping up left and right - I had to call Cyberpower's support to figure out what was going on. It wasn't until later that I discovered the problem was with an outdated motherboard BIOS version.
With setting up Windows eventually in the end after many frustrating attempts, I got a core Windows corruption, and kept getting errors doing cumulative updates. So I ended up having to do a complete new Windows install - it didn't take long, but I was relieved when that was over.
Cyberpower sent out a new 16gb DDR5 ram stick along with the system, which arrived yesterday, and installed it for me. But now I'm getting black screen crashes when gaming - I know public driver version 576.02 is a known issue at the moment, but I installed the hotfix driver, and after many crashes, it's still happening.
On my old system that I gave to my son, he's on the same driver 576.02 and had no issues whatsoever, so I'm not sure what went wrong with this system. Luckily, I know my way around setting up PC's, and I think I might have just gotten a one-off glitch.
The system itself was absolutely fantastic visually modern looking - I'm thrilled to see how it looks compared to my old system. When I was able to game on it without it crashing, I got a stable 240fps on my 240Hz monitor and was rock solid due to the 7800X3D's incredible performance.
I normally don't do negative reviews, but with so many problems on this system, I thought I'd share my experience with you. The new system is fantastic - it's slightly more expensive than my old one, but I'm glad I ended up getting a better deal.
I was hesitant to place another order for the 5th May, but the new system turned out to be even better than I expected. It's also worth noting that Cyberpower support was incredibly helpful throughout the process - Hayden B put my mind at ease about the new system and was very knowledgeable. They even upgraded the AIO from a 240 to a 360 for added performance - all in total, this is a pleasant experience with Cyberpower.
The first pic shows my old system with two side fans and a 240 AIO, while the updated pics are of the new system with an upgraded 360 AIO and three extra fans along the bottom of the case. Now that I've fully optimized and de-bloated Windows, tuned the BIOS for the 7800X3D, and in Fortnite on my 240Hz monitor, I get a stable 240fps and doing benchmarks with CapFrameX - it's absolutely crazy!
