I had purchased the Cronus Zen for mouse and keyboard use, but then switched to using a wireless controller. I was impressed with how well it worked on my Xbox One X, with standard wireless joypads also working seamlessly. The presentation of the item was excellent, with a strong and durable box that held up well to handling. Inside, I received three USB cables: one for flashing firmware, two for programming, and one for wire mode use. I connected to the back of the Zen using the short cable, then to my computer via the attached short cable, and pressed the small button on the bottom to put it in bootloader status. Once in bootloader status, I flashed the firmware by selecting a program from the website and attaching the short cable to the back of the Zen.
After installing the firmware update program and connecting to my computer, I was able to select which script to load using the right blue button. The software for programming the unit is easy to use and allows me to select from eight available slots. I've been able to switch between scripts by pressing the right blue button, and have found that it's a straightforward process once you get familiar with it.
I've used this device on an Xbox One X, standard wireless joypads, and also wired controllers. However, I was unable to pair my Series 2 Elite controller properly using the Xbox Elite app wireless connection. To fix this issue, I had to insert the USB cable into the left port of the Zen and connect it to the Xbox One X via the right blue button. Once mapped and uploaded, I unplugged the Xbox One X from the joypad and used it wirelessly.
I've also found that my Astro headset can use the 3.5mm port on the back of the Zen. For those considering purchasing this device, note that the firmware update program is available for download through YouTube videos or other sources. Installation was relatively easy, but I experienced some frustration at one point when struggling to get it working properly.
I'm happy to recommend this device, as I've found that the scripts are free and can be obtained from online sources such as fan-based scripts. The Muscle Memory feature is also a game-changer for those transitioning between different controllers. There's a lot of content available on YouTube that demonstrates how to set up and use the device with various consoles.
I originally purchased this device mainly for mouse and keyboard use, but have since found it useful for playing games on both console pads and using wireless controllers. The installation process was easy, even when working with my Xbox One X controller. I'm now looking forward to exploring additional features such as modding the scripts on my PC or updating the Strike Pack for my Xbox controller.
